LG KG225 *Super Test 'Best Buy' Award Winner super review and best buy

Guide price: £89.00

Tiny, super-stylish clamshell mobile phone. It is beautifully made and has a very unusual paint finish that changes from a rather sober glossy black in daylight to a sparkly party-animal effect at night! (The flecks of glitter really are not visible in daylight.) It is lovely to hold with a very nice rounded shape and no screw heads or ridges to spoil its tactile smoothness.
I was impressed at how little time (at under two hours) it needed to fully charge. A light comes on near the connector and flashes red until fully charged, at which point it changes to green. I was keen to make some calls and give it a thorough trial so this feature was important to me.
It is extremely easy to navigate around the features, with a very user-friendly interface and very nicely-designed keypad (which has surprisingly big keys, backlit with blue light) and the graphics and text are clear on the sharp, vibrant screen.
The integral VGA (640 x 480 resolution) camera was fully tested and the pictures it produced were sharp, colourful and showed good exposure, even in bright light. (Remember at this resolution the pictures would be good enough only for screen use, e-mail and for printing out at 6x4 size.)
All the functions worked well and I found it to be a very good all-rounder. It was also pleasant to use with the handsfree kit which was included and is a very nice touch.

Great points: Size, looks, build quality, ease of use, camera, crystal clear sound.

Not so good points: No Bluetooth and that's about it!

Hilary's conclusion: A truly great mobile phone. I have no hesitation whatsoever in making it a 'Best buy'
