Motorola KRZR K1
Guide price: £180.00
Compact fully-featured flip phone. This phoned wowed people with its stunning good looks back in 2006, and it is now back, with an even better specification due to popular demand and available in a beautiful pink (Rose Bloom) and packed with an integrated music player (with expandable memory) a 2 megapixel camera (the original KRZR had a 1.3 megapixel camera) 8x digital zoom, video camera, full stereo Bluetooth and all in a very slim, tactile, half shiny, half rubberised pink finish case, with external and internal full colour screens!
Straight out of the box this phone phone encourages you to hold and play with it, so beautifully made and crafted out of alloy and mirrored glass, no cheap materials or plastic used here! Made to withstand the rigours of everyday life either in a glamourous handbag or scratchy jean pocket, this phone will stay looking good whatever you throw at it! You may want to keep nasty greasy fingerprints at bay with the black pouch provided though!
Setting up is also a doddle, the KRZR features very easy, logical software with an interactive help menu and automatic MMS and Browser configuration, so you are ready to surf the web or send a picture message almost immediately after the first initial battery charge.
The phone is completely customizable and has plenty of onboard skins, ringtones, screen savers and themes and obviously you can use your own images or download more from the web.
This mobile is so easy to use and really a delight to personalize/customize. The manual is also logically set out and written in plain English, it actually encourages you to read it!
In a week of intensive testing with two Network providers the Motorola outperformed my bulky Palm Treo! It kept a signal better and call quality was far superior, the music player can also handle Apple's AAC and AAC+ files in full stereo Bluetooth and obviously the camera and its premium video capabilities put my Palm 650 totally to shame!(along with almost everything else!)
KRZR Pros:
Ultra-slim and totally ergonomic with its fit to the face(ear to mouth)flip-phone shape.
Quality metal build

Accomplished music player.

Hilary's Conclusion:
