Sony W850i Walkman

Guide price: £200.00

The new W850i Walkman is the latest in Sony's successful range of entertainment mobiles. The W850i fuses the renowned Walkman music player with some of the top spec mobile features to make it one of the best mobile entertainment devices around.

Open the box and as well as the sleek black W850i slider, you'll discover all you need to start setting up your mobile jukebox. Complete with easy to use Disc2phone software, stereo headset, USB cable and a 1Gb memory card capable of storing around 256 CD quality tracks (that's around 17 hours of music).

The Walkman music player features a direct link to an online music store where you can search, browse and audition albums and tracks. Like many of Sony's top end mobiles , the W850i includes a stereo FM radio with Mega Bass support. Cunningly, you can even use the TrackID feature to find out what the song is you are listening to on the radio.

No top quality mobile would be complete without a decent camera and the W850i is not one to break this trend. Featuring a 2 megapixel camera with photo light and digital zoom as well as video recording, and a whole range of other goodies waiting to be unleashed like video streaming or Sony's VideoDJ. Capable of delivering pictures in resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 pixels (roughly 600-700KB in size) which you could print standard 6x4 pictures with ease and may even get away with printing some in A4 size.

Hilary's Conclusion: If you need a phone that doubles as an mp3 player, that is as good as some of the best mp3 players on the market, then this phone is for you.
