A Very Happy New Year To You All! News: Apple iPhone Update

Happy New Year to all TFG readers out there! Hope you all had a great Christmas and got the gadgets you wanted, not someone else's uniformed choices! To kick off the New Year the rumour is Apple is to release a substantial iPhone update that will add all those features needed to make the iPhone really, really great!
A video walkthrough of the latest firmware has been posted that shows off the new features of 1.1.3 and it proves that it is real.
Here is a quick rundown of the known features of the upcoming 1.1.3 firmware update:

* Send SMS messages to multiple recipients
* Google Maps cell tower location triangulation
* Google Maps hybrid map view
* Rearrange application icons on the home menu and dock
* Create shortcuts to web sites on your home menu and dock

The ability to drag and drop icons around your home menu and dock is obviously a precursor to SDK powered 3rd party applications, something that will hopefully arrive soon after the 1.1.3 update. Remember though, if you have an unlocked iPhone you can bet your bottom dollar this update will render it totally locked again! Sorry!
