Media jukebox do it all!

Media jukebox do it all!

25/09/06

Media jukeboxes are hardly new but now and then one arrives with an alarming amount of features that you can feel your fingers edging towards the credit card.

The snazzily-named IAMM NTD36HD is built to house any size IDE hard disk drive you feel is needed to manage all those illegally ripped DVDs, movie torrents and tunes you’ve downloaded off the Net. You can also get it with a HDD already inside, ranging in size from 40GB to 500GB. Like others of its ilk, this baby cuts the PC and DVD player out of your entertainment life.

It supports a vast array of file formats so you won’t have to go through the pain of reconverting files. For example: HD file format, Windows Media 9, Windows Media 9 HD, DivX 3.11, DivX4, DivX5, Xvid, MPEG1, MPEG2(IFO,VOB,ISO), MP3, WMA, OGG Vorbis, AC3, DTS. It supports HD too with full 1080p output. As for connections, it has more holes than Swiss cheese.

For the Media Player, without hard drive, but with remote and a heap of cables, it’s £200. An extra £67 gets you a 160GB HDD inside. Due out next month. – Martin Lynch
