Palm Pre Going To The O2 Network Only

We have been waiting months for the release of the Palm Pre, and Sprint will launch the most-anticipated handset on Saturday, June 6 (in the USA) but what about those in the UK. We reported that O2 will be the exclusive network to carry the Palm Pre but the release date in the UK is a little sketchy, according to an article by the Guardian, the best we can tell you is that it will be in time for the holiday season.

According to Softpedia, there had been rumors that the Pre would come to the UK market on June 18, but that is not a realistic date. The problem is there are only a limited number of handsets, so Palm would never release the Pre in another country, not until they have larger stock numbers.

There could be another reason why the Palm Pre will not launch in the UK until Christmas; it could have something to do with a certain 2009 Apple iPhone. O2 is also the exclusive carrier for the iPhone, and the rumors point to a launch of the new iPhone long before the holiday season in the UK.
